Warming Shelter.

When the real feel temperature drops to 15 degrees or below,
we will activate our volunteer team and open the warming shelter.
Hours of operation will be 6:00pm to 6:00am and will include an evening meal and breakfast.

Volunteer FAQ

How do I volunteer?

Follow the volunteer link above to let us know that you are interested in helping with the warming  shelter. You will be able to indicate when and how you would like to be involved. Teams will be formed for each day of the week and we will activate each team as needed.

Can I just show up to volunteer if I know the warming shelter is open?

All volunteers will need to go through training prior to their first time serving at the warming shelter and anyone on the overnight team will also need to complete a background check.
Please follow the volunteer link above to let us know that you are interested so that we can make sure we have all nights adequately covered. Winters can be long and we want to be able to manage our resources so we can provide a safe and welcoming space all season.

Do I have to spend the night?

No. We will need a small group of people who are willing and able to stay overnight, but there are plenty of other volunteer needs as well, ranging from set up to check-in to food prep.

I want to help but I can't physically be there during the warming shelter hours.

That's ok! We will need help in many ways. While we will monitor weather and hopefully have a good idea of when we will need to open, things may change quickly and require a fast turnaround in building set up. We will also need people who are wiling to help with the evening meal. Finally, donations will be gratefully accepted to help cover costs for operating the warming shelter.
